The Mercademy
Professional Workshop
This is an INTENSE weekend of workshops, both wet and dry, designed for adult working mers who desire more training and experience.
This is NOT a convention.
It is for those with strong swimming capabilities who want guidance and expert training/coaching so to continue to build their mer careers.

Your Mercademy tuition covers ALL classes, instructor fees, materials, one ticket to Merlesque (showcase), a fabric tail* in the color of your choice, and transportation upon our provided shuttles between class locations and the preferred hotel.
Participants may register and pay for select classes if they wish rather than the entire Mercademy. Classes are $75 each. Priority will be given to those participating in the full workshop, then to a la carte participants who prepay for the class, and finally to walk up registrants. Please contact us via email to register and choose your classes. A list of those who register a la carte with the date of PAYMENT will be kept. In the event a class sells out before a la carte participants get in, a full refund will be issued.

Transportation between the preferred hotel and pool will be provided.
In home lodging is available for a LIMITED number of mers for $25 per night paid to the homeowner at your arrival. This includes a bed and access to a bathroom, kitchen, and internet. These are lodgings provided by friends and family of The MerFriends throughout DFW. Criminal background checks required.
Optional social events are planned every evening including site seeing, movie night, and a visit to the local aquariums.
Participants will pay their own way. Transportation provided.

** PLEASE TAKE NOTE **
** Participants may use their own tails but you will still receive a fabric tail. The cost will not be prorated for those using their own tails. Tails made with sequins are allowed so long as very few sequins are found in the pool drain and/or at the bottom of the pool. The Mercademy reserves the right to ask participants to change tails in order to protect our equipment and other participants.
** Professional working mers, and those who hope to be, are welcome at The Mercademy so long as they take note of the non-compete portion of the registration paperwork. The non-compete clause covers 300 miles from all Mercademy locations and spans a period of three (3) years. This means participants and their immediate family members are not allowed to charge money or work in exchange for other goods and/or services as a professional MerPerson. The Mercademy encourages students to enjoy their tails, safely, as a hobby and fitness routine. Should a participant want to work as a professional MerPerson, they are encouraged to apply for work with The MerFriends. Completion of The Mercademy program is not a guarantee of future work with The MerFriends. Outside of the non-compete area and time period, professional Mers have the full support of The MerFriends to pursue their dreams and career goals- safely, believably, and professionally.
